Classic Album Aja by Steely Dan

This album is a must have for all drummers that read this website. I got the album when it was released back in the early 70's, the album has seven songs on it and it has six of the worlds greatest drummers playing. Their names are Steve Gadd who play's on the title track Aja and rumour has it that Steve's take was a first or second take. Donald fagan was said to have been stunned at Steve's sight reading of the music on this track as it was just over four pages long.

Jake Bugg

Has been keeping himself busy recording a new album. Jake's management team wanted him to record some Demo's with Rick Rubin at Shangri La Studio's. Which is situated near Zuma beach on the slopes of Malibu California. Jake and Rick Rubin have got on so well that instead of recording the Demo's it's turned out that Jake has recorded his new album.

Dave Lombardo News

I was totally surprised to say the least when I heard last week that the great drumming talent that is Dave Lombardo was Fired form his post as drummer with the band Slayer. Slayer have released a message to all of their fan's saying that Dave's departure from Slayer was due to a disagreement over contracts. I am sure you will all agree with me that Dave Lombardo is a superb drummer and one of the very best Double Bass drum players around along with the great Joey Jordison. If you would like to know more information about Dave Lombardo's departure from Slayer then simply have a look at the bands website by clicking on www.slayer.co.uk

The Wrecking Crew

The Wrecking Crew

Was a team of the very best musicians in Los Angeles. They got the name from a comment from an older session musician who said that all of these young musicians coming to the sessions are wrecking our scene. Hal Blaine the drummer heard this and put the Wrecking Crew together.
