The Wrecking Crew

The Wrecking Crew

Was a team of the very best musicians in Los Angeles. They got the name from a comment from anĀ older session musician who said that all of these young musicians coming to the sessions are wrecking our scene. Hal Blaine the drummer heard this and put the Wrecking Crew together.

Hal Blaine on drums. Carol Kaye on Bass, with Tommy Tedesco and Glen Campbell on Guitar's. With a line up of brass players as and when required. They would go on to play on records by The Beach Boy's, Frank Sinatra, The Carpenters, Simon and Garfunkel, Cher, The Monkees, The Mamas and the Papas and many more Hits. On the 6th March 2000 Hal Blaine became the first musician to be inducted into the Rock and Roll, Hall of Fame on the strengths of his contributions as a studio musician.
