John who is called JR by his close friends is such a great drummer. He said that when he was recording Michael Jackson's Off The Wall album he had the main song writer Rod Temperton and the producer Quincy Jones were both in the drum room when he was recording the song off the album caled Rock With You. They suggested that it would be great if you could play a drum fill that would stand the test of time. Something that would sound great whenever you heard the song. John said I had both Quincy and Rod standing behind me. I recorded 10 drum fills and the one on the record is the one that was chosen by both guy's. I am sure that you will agree with me that the drum fill at the start of Rock With You is sublime.
