Omar Hakim

It was inevtable that Omar Hakim would become a musician as his father Hasan Hakim was a jazz trombonist. Hasan was in demand as a trombonist and played for the likes of  Duke Ellington and Count Basie. They are without a doubt two of the biggest names in the music business. Omar had a keen interest in learning how to play the drum kit.

Omar Hakim's name has been associated with some of the biggest artists in the world. He has played and recorded for Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Chic, Madonna, David Bowie, Miles Davis, Weather Report, Chaka Khan and Mariah Carey. He is still in constant demand as a session drummer. If you have heard Sting's great song called Englishman In New York then that's Omar's great drumming in the middle of the song. It sound's like the drums were recorded in a Live room as they are so loud, but tastefully played. Omar has been involved electric drums for such a long time now as he is involved in Roland's V-Drum systems. There is alot more to Omar's C.V. for more information just type his name into (Google) He is without a shadow of doubt one of the very best drummers on the planet.
