Converse All Stars

We all have our own favourite footwear that we like to play drums in. I have been wearing Converse Boots since the early 80's when a good drumming friend of mine Gary Dwyer who played for The Teardrop Explodes bought a couple of pairs back from a tour of the USA. I liked them so much I went out and bought myself a pair, we have all seen the photos of the likes of Kurt Cobain who liked his Converse Shoes/Boots so much that Kurt would write Endorsed on the white rubber. I remember seeing The Ramones and more recently the great Dave Grohl wearing Converse Boots. In fact they are worn by lots of people who play in bands.

Converse Shoes were created by Marquis Converse back in 1908 in Malden Massachusetts. In 1917 the company designed the All Stars Shoe. In 1921 a Basketball player by the name of Charles "Chuck" Taylor joined a Basketball team who were sponsored by Converse Company and the team was called the Converse All Stars. Chuck Taylor used to hold Basketball Clinics as was that good. He also used to teach Basketball. The Converse Shoes/Boots have become so popular as they keep your feet cool as they have two holes on the instep of the boot so as your feet can breathe. I love my Converse Boots and wear them all of the time.
